For the Love of the Game

Boiled peanuts, crsip fall air,and 50 yards of youngsters playing flag football. 4 teams in the league one of those teams is 0-5 but not with out the lack of trying. A shaggy blond headed freckled faced boy with a heart of gold is playing with his heart on his sleeve all while his sister is on the side lines with pom poms shouting "Riding on a donkey siting on a cactus! we think your team needs a lil practice!". The coach puts me in the mind of Jeff Fischer of the Tennesse Titans. Well a much younger one that is or maybe its just the mustache?.

5 Games in with no wins. Grandma (my mother) feel off the top bleacher and busted the back of her head needing 4 staples. After going to the doctor yesterday to get stables out the Dr diagnoised her with an concussion. Amazing you get hurt and your not in the game. Then dent is still in the bleechers. Its a battle scare for the packers team. A reminder of where we been.

Last night it was close the defence of the packers looked great. Christian played renassiance man playing running back, tight end and even free saftey. He had a 15yd run at running back and two tackles at free saftey. As i watched on the side lines while listening to Miley cheer "we are going beat the whoopise outta you" I saw the love of the game in him. He looked like Brett Farve does when he in the "love of the game" mode. I saw him eyes on the ball at all times, high fiving team mates and the first over when coach called for a huddle.

I'm proud of what he has become if anyone knows what he went thru you would understand. He has truely come out of his shell. If we finish 0-8 it will still be a sucess. At the end of the day its about having fun and by golly we have!
