Boiled peanuts, crsip fall air,and 50 yards of youngsters playing flag football. 4 teams in the league one of those teams is 0-5 but not with out the lack of trying. A shaggy blond headed freckled faced boy with a heart of gold is playing with his heart on his sleeve all while his sister is on the side lines with pom poms shouting "Riding on a donkey siting on a cactus! we think your team needs a lil practice!". The coach puts me in the mind of Jeff Fischer of the Tennesse Titans. Well a much younger one that is or maybe its just the mustache?.
5 Games in with no wins. Grandma (my mother) feel off the top bleacher and busted the back of her head needing 4 staples. After going to the doctor yesterday to get stables out the Dr diagnoised her with an concussion. Amazing you get hurt and your not in the game. Then dent is still in the bleechers. Its a battle scare for the packers team. A reminder of where we been.
Last night it was close the defence of the packers looked great. Christian played renassiance man playing running back, tight end and even free saftey. He had a 15yd run at running back and two tackles at free saftey. As i watched on the side lines while listening to Miley cheer "we are going beat the whoopise outta you" I saw the love of the game in him. He looked like Brett Farve does when he in the "love of the game" mode. I saw him eyes on the ball at all times, high fiving team mates and the first over when coach called for a huddle.
I'm proud of what he has become if anyone knows what he went thru you would understand. He has truely come out of his shell. If we finish 0-8 it will still be a sucess. At the end of the day its about having fun and by golly we have!
Salutations. Thanks for dropping by and reading.

Living where it all overlaps
It took every fiber of my being to press the sent button to call you. I looked to the heavens and asked the good lord to shine down. It was cloudly and my heart was on my sleeve. These things dont seem to happen in the movies good guys always win. The feelings in my heart are pure for once in my life. My ex wife and I didnt have it nor did any other relationship. You are my best friend and the owner of my heart. I hope and pray your well. What happen?!?! its beyond me. I have stood in the shadows swallow my pride and watch my self die slowly. No hatred at all toward you nothing but good thoughts and memories. I cant look at our photos in fear of crying like my daughter did that first night she stayed with me alone after her mother left.
Part of me wants to know and part doesnt. I felt pure and wanted. Your family took me in and that for me was huge for mine isnt that way. Every night i look up at when we have a cresent moon i see your smile and not meaning in a sappy love way but more of straight from the heart. I recall you first smiling at me thru the can pole walls of the hut you made. I was sold from that point forever more. Moving on? not even crossed my mind. I feel like love is a once in a life time thing and if you got it you bust your ass to keep it. I know we did. The ending isnt the way i wanted. My car broke down 3 summers ago. I was flat broke with no way to call you. I lived with my brother who was a nightmare alone. I recall looking for pennies walking 4 miles to the bank to get two quaters to call you and never got an answer for almost a month.
The drive was in me walking in the heat knowing in the back of mind that id hear from you and that fuel would make it all better. Too many signs for me to just let all this go. I have been humble to not bother it too much but the lyric in the song the wander by johnny cash sticks out "I went out wandering with nothing but the thought of you" sticks out. That lyric has been my salavation for the past 3 years. You were my fairy like in the game legend of zelda who gave link his hearts aka life back. Now the fairy is gone.
This time of year is really hard for me for i knew halloween was your holiday and i recall saying to myself when you made the trail for the kids that one year. It was pretty grassroots and put together organically but had almost 200 kids show up. I saw the smiles you put on the faces of them. I was in love with you enternally at that point. You ora can make the black and white world color again. God really put his magic on you.
I wouldnt change nothing about you. Now here I am brutal reality has set in and Im alone in a house with no power, rotton brother, and nothing but memories. Its hard to go on with this on my heart. I dunno if i ever will hear from you again. Your always in my heart and I love you enternally Tabitha Raynette Belue aka gods own prototype for happiness. amen
Forever in debt to you and love enternally

Dear Hunter...
Dear Hunter
I assume you and warren zevon have written countless songs and you have been able to speak your peace about Nixon. That rotten bastard is in hell and you were correct. I came into your works later with the "fear and loathing" movie. Johnny Depp did you some justice and opened up a whole new monster of admirers to gonzo style of writing. I for one was hooked line and sinker with the opener "We were somewhere aroundBarstow, on the edge of the desert...
when the drugsbegan to take hold."
That was the most brilliant in your face opening line complete and utter chaos and I bought the ticket and indeed took the ride. It took me a couple watches to truly understand the point of the movie. I turned so many on to you but don't think they truly "got the point". They saw you as a drugged crazed maniac who did things that they would never know. That is true but its so much more. I've spawned off to Kerovac & Hemmingway all thanks to you. Not bad for someone who just read cracked magazine along with anything that required no mind strength to read. Even musically I learned how great Zevon was as a songwriter and not the novelty act for penning "werewolves of London". Hey rude, fear and loathing, and the rum diary have been consumed by me so far. I'm in the middle of reading Kentucky gentleman and never been so influenced by words.
Your ashes have been breathed in my lungs when they were shot from the gonzo symbol cannon from woody creek. Your spirt lives in me and the renegade within. You are a tremendous addition to the human race even though you wouldn't want it that way. I can wait to meet you in the other side to have a brew with you and to be merry. Who do you have in the super bowl this year? The Saints look tough but If favre is to go all the way it would be the greatest sports story in history. Wouldn't you agree? Hunter I hope all is well and tell Zevon I said hello.
Sincerely
JMR

Pack up the Tools and Get out!
The Economy has effected everyone that's a fact. I have seen it everyday and am thankful to have a little job even though it doesn't pay much but its a job. My dad to me has and will always be superman who can "Do no wrong". Everyday for the past 32 years he has gotten up at the break of dawn while most are deep in slumber to support his family. Dad is a hardcore blue collar filled with pride. He is the one that if one of his legs were chopped off he would find away around it and get back to work. He and I haven't been so close over the years. He has his ways in a very strict way but at the end of day he is fair.
Dad's life has been filled with promise but not with out fights. He was raised by his grandmother on the Great Tyger River and never knew his father. Later on my mom being a jack of all trades in the category of "finding people" found dad's dad and turns out he was spitting image of him. He was a gold gloves boxer in the Military which is like almost champion of the world status. He was killed in World War 2 and news of his finding my father could care less. Must understand my dad is a private person and a machine when he is in the zone. I have the upmost respect for him. He is a reassurance man who has done it all from building things to panning for gold. He taught me about nature and shooting guns growing up.
After dad got out of military he married my mother shortly afterward and had 3 boys with her. I being the youngest of the 3. He took a job at a local textile plant and has been there for as long as I can remember. I have seen the company get bought out time and time again but dad has always been the last man standing. He worked his way up to a head maintenance man complete with office, internet, phone to call anywhere in world, personal fridge and microwave and even a roll out bed. He worked way to the top there is no denying it.
The end of the summer of this year it was announced that the company and plant was shutting down for good. I knew of a day of him retiring would come but it was like Haley's comet and thought that day wouldn't come in my lifetime. The day before Thanksgiving was my dad's last day of work. He stayed on longer than most did. He said he watched almost all with exceptions of some bosses people who had grown to family go out the door crying with worry. So, on Thanksgiving I saw dad for the first time in months and I know wasn't expecting "I missed you son" or "I'm down son" but I saw the "Down" in his mannerisms and his worried eyes. Dad is one to always do something and this has to be traumatic to him. The financial part of it isn't a issue. He will be fine there. He is one to "If you aren't working....you are not living". Only imagine how his last day was loading up his tool box on the truck and turning in his badge. I fear he will go crazy over this but time will tell. Never know never know.

Traces & Tracks

I woke up once to snow once when i was a kid to a blanket of white frozen things that i had to that day never witnessed. I was excited to go out and explore what ever i was to be blessed with that day. I notice i was leaving Foot Prints others made "snow angels" by laying in the snow and moving arms with legs. This is a trace that something was here in this point and time.
The same thing applys to bathroom stalls, currency with notes on it,receipts, phone records, finger prints, crossword puzzles never finished in a crumbled up old people magazine at the attorneys office. Some one was there and this is the evidence! Being one who has done alot (ALOT) of private investigator work this sorta thing interests me. My father is to think for such as well being an avid hunter when i was little he taught me how to track animals from the foot prints they had left in the mud. I also learned which way they had came from along with what sorta animal it was with out every baring my eyes on the animal.
You can learn alot about some one from the little things if you just sit and think about it. These "traces" left behind good or bad tells stories....true stories. The bathroom stall is always interesting place filled with messages of vulgarity and even some funny jokes. I thought why not say some nice things so i'm taking upon self to leave a nice message writing on the next paper towel in a public rest room saying "Have a nice day! now wash your hands! :)"
Oh to be a fly on that wall. So next time you throw away a receipt, walk and track mud in the house, or even leave out the cross word puzzle you been working on forever. Think how evolution has changed of that and if you don't like it or you are hiding something you must destroy it immediately!
Hagd!

Maintenance

Well it’s bound to happen and I assure you with all that I am that it will. Which in be in body, spiritual or even vehicle sooner more than later going to have to face this terrible thing. I like to speak of home take of this subject the first place that I had ventured out to on my own was not a five star by any means. I was a young man living wild hard and free. It was a constant party with no end in sight and I was living the American dream. I had very little money for things that were needed around the home. It was not a issue at all. Every night for two years running I had some one there who would bring anything from booze, toilet paper, food from where ever they had gotten off work to even lawn mowers to cut the grass.
.. ..
.. ..
Yeah so what that was a run on sentence I don’t give a shit. You get the point right? Fuck it call the grammar nazi’s on me. Besides I’m in no mood for spell check this is taking 2 on this piece I got to end a bit ago and x out on mistake to check the score on the Carolina Game. I now reside in a modern subdivision neighborhood that looks like a modern day leave it to beaver residence. The 9-5 people I have learn have called it “Investments”. This term was foreign to me until coming here. Being the simpleton I am have always been one if something in the homestead has malfunctioned. Instead of reaching in my pocket to call a man to come out and resolve my issue. I find myself going to the local library or getting on the net to see how I can and must fix due to lack of funds.
.. ..
.. ..
Being a hayseed has its advantages growing up I lived in a Home not a investment with a family. Yes post 9/11 crowd a family complete with dog and the occasionally family trip in summer time. We wasn’t the most high tech of family but we never done with out. I can recall many of days of chopping wood for the wood stop in the dead of winter no sense of the wood stove running out in the middle of the night. Dryer was not even mentioning in my home oh no it was almost like one of those fancy hot things that get my clothes hot. The iron was used a lot in these days. I remember the first time I saw a dishwasher was feeling like Crocodile Dundee when he came to American and discovered the men’s urinal. It was as if I had seen the future and thinking there is no way anyone can make that kind of purchase.
.. ..
.. ..
Its all too common today how all these modern conviences has made us more and more lazy. We live in a fast pace society now. I have never been one to have any interest in fixing things around the house but I find myself now looking at the Lowes sales papers and saying “Wow that would be good if a nuclear holocaust was to happen”. I’m always thinking ahead and if you asked me five years ago id say you were ¾ shy of a socket set. (rimshot)
It is important to keep up your house, home or investment. I find Norm Abram to be a fantastic genius who in my opinion could kick mcguyers ass. He is a true artist in every sense of the game. Yet another thing I thought I would never say.
.. ..
.. ..
“A house is a place to live while a home is for ever to shelter you”
.. ..
.. ..
I heard this somewhere someplace I can’t remember just came to be. It so true in the “Investment” times we live in. Personally I would rather have a small house with a lot of land and call it my home. I’m quite sure I can and will one day have this structure of wood to cement my legacy and built memories of things for many years to come. “Investment” isn’t or never was in my vocabulary.
